General
What is Nozzl?
Nozzl is print farm management software for 3D printing businesses. It monitors your entire fleet in real time, runs a smart print queue with tag-based job matching, tracks customer billing, and manages Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, OctoPrint and Klipper printers from a single dashboard. It's built multi-tenant from the ground up, so it works equally well for a solo maker with one printer and an agency running dozens across a team.
Which printers does Nozzl support?
Four connection types cover most desktop FDM printers on the market today:
- Bambu Lab — connected via your Bambu cloud account; every printer on the account syncs at once.
- Klipper-based printers — Creality, Elegoo, and Snapmaker, over Moonraker.
- OctoPrint — any printer running OctoPrint, via API key.
- Prusa Connect — via API key.
See the Getting Started guide for exact connection steps for each.
Do I need to install anything?
No — Nozzl runs entirely in the browser, and cloud-connected printers (like Bambu Lab) work with no local software at all. The one exception is printers on a local network that Nozzl's cloud can't reach directly: for those, you install a small, free local agent app on any machine on that same network. It securely relays printer status and print commands to your dashboard without exposing your local network to the internet.
Can I use Nozzl on my phone?
Yes. The dashboard is a responsive web app, so you can check printer status, manage the queue, and review customer jobs from a phone or tablet browser without installing a separate mobile app.
Account & Organization
What's the difference between my account and my company?
Your account (email + password) is you, personally — it can belong to multiple companies at once. A company is the actual workspace: every printer, print job, customer, tag, and team member belongs to exactly one company, and companies never share data with each other. If you manage print farms for more than one client or business, you'd typically use one company per client and switch between them from the company picker.
How do I create an organization, and can I have more than one?
You're prompted to create a company the first time you sign in (unless you were invited to one already). Creating one just takes a name — Nozzl generates a URL slug from it automatically, which you can edit before saving. You can create additional companies later and switch between them at any time; each one has its own printers, billing, and team, completely independent of the others. Full step-by-step details are in the Getting Started guide.
How do I join a company someone else created?
An Owner or Admin on that company invites you by email from Settings → Members. You'll receive an email with a link — click it, and if you don't have an account yet you'll be prompted to create one first. Accepting the invite adds you to their company with whichever role they assigned; you don't end up with a separate company of your own.
Do I need to verify my email address?
Yes — after you register, Nozzl sends a verification email to the address you signed up with. Click the link inside it to confirm your address. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or use the resend-verification option on the login page.
Can I rename my company or change its currency later?
Yes — an Owner can update the company name and currency at any time from Settings → General. Currency affects how customer rates, invoices, and reports are displayed; Nozzl supports 14 currencies including EUR, USD, GBP, and CHF.
Plans & Billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan covers one printer with real-time monitoring, the smart print queue and schedule, products and print history, and full team roles — no credit card required to sign up or stay on it indefinitely.
How much does Pro cost, and how is the price calculated?
Pro is €25/month, which includes your first 4 printers. Each additional printer is +€2.50/month — for example, 6 printers total would cost €30/month (€25 base + 2 × €2.50). Pro unlocks analytics, customer management and billing, filament tracking, automations and webhooks, external print detection, support ticket management, and priority support. See the full plan comparison.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Subscription. You'll keep full access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, at which point the company drops to the Free plan. You can also undo a cancellation before the period ends if you change your mind.
What happens to my bill if I add or remove printers?
Your bill adjusts automatically. Adding printers beyond the 4 included in Pro adds €2.50/month each; removing printers reduces the bill, with a prorated credit applied for the remainder of the current billing period.
What happens to my printers and jobs if I downgrade to Free?
Your data isn't deleted. The Free plan is limited to one active printer and doesn't include customer billing, automations, filament tracking, or analytics, so those features become unavailable until you upgrade again — but nothing is lost in the meantime.
Printers & Connections
Can I mix printer brands in the same company?
Yes. A single company can connect Bambu Lab, Klipper-based, OctoPrint, and Prusa Connect printers side by side, and the print queue can target any of them by tag — useful if a job just needs "any 0.4mm nozzle printer" rather than a specific brand.
What happens if my printer or internet connection drops?
Nozzl marks the printer offline until the connection is restored. A print already running locally on the printer keeps going — printers don't depend on a live connection to finish a job in progress — but Nozzl won't be able to report its status or assign it a new job from the queue until it reconnects.
Can Nozzl detect prints I start outside the app?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Prints started directly from Bambu Cloud, Prusa Connect, or OctoPrint (rather than queued through Nozzl) are automatically detected and can be claimed against a customer afterward for billing, so you don't lose track of work just because it didn't start in the dashboard.
Is the local agent required for every printer?
No. Bambu Lab printers connect through Bambu's own cloud, so no local software is needed. The local agent is only needed for printers that are only reachable on your local network and don't already expose a cloud API — typically Klipper-based, OctoPrint, and some Prusa setups on a closed LAN.
Can I use the live camera and AI failure detection on a cloud-connected printer?
Yes. Bambu's own cloud API doesn't expose a camera feed, so cloud-connected printers need a local agent to unlock those two features specifically — install it on any machine on the same network as the printer and link it as that printer's camera source. Everything else (status, temperatures, starting and stopping prints) keeps working through Bambu cloud either way; the agent is only there to relay video.
How does AI print-failure detection work?
On the Pro plan, once a printer has a camera source (local agent, or a native Klipper/OctoPrint webcam), you can turn on AI Print Monitoring for it. The local agent analyzes a camera frame roughly once a minute directly on your machine — no video is streamed to Nozzl for this — and scores it for signs of a failed print (spaghetti, a detached part, a knocked-over object). You control how sensitive it is.
When it flags a likely failure, Nozzl records the event, notifies your team, and can fire any automations you've set up. If you've turned on auto-pause, the print is paused immediately — before anyone confirms anything — since a paused print is easy to resume but a ruined one isn't. A banner then appears on the printer's page so you can tell Nozzl what to do next: resume it if it was a false alarm, mark it as a confirmed failure and leave it paused, or stop the print outright.
This same detection also covers prints started outside Nozzl — from Bambu Handy or the printer's own screen — since it watches the camera and the printer's live state directly, not just jobs queued through the dashboard.
Team & Security
Can I invite my team, and how many roles are there?
Yes — invite teammates by email from Settings → Members. There are four roles: Owner (full control, including billing and deleting the company), Admin (manages printers, team, and settings but not billing or deletion), Operator (runs prints and manages customers day-to-day), and Viewer (read-only access to the dashboard). The full permission breakdown is in the Getting Started guide.
Who can change someone's role or remove them?
Only Owners and Admins can change roles or remove members, and neither can promote someone above their own level — an Admin can't create another Owner, and Admins can't modify other Admins. Only an Owner can change another Owner's role.
Is my company's data isolated from other companies?
Yes. Nozzl is multi-tenant by design — every printer, job, customer, and file is scoped to a single company and is never visible to other companies on the platform, even ones sharing the same underlying infrastructure.
Can I belong to more than one company?
Yes. Your account can be a member of multiple companies with a different role in each — for example, Owner of your own farm and Viewer on a client's, if they invite you in to check status. Switch between them from the company picker in the dashboard.
Customers, Automations & Shipping
Can I bill my customers for print time?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Add a customer, set their hourly rate, and Nozzl tracks print time against their jobs automatically — including externally detected prints claimed after the fact. Generate a PDF or Excel report from the customer's page whenever it's time to invoice.
What are automations, and what can trigger them?
Automations are event-driven workflows: a print event (like a job starting, finishing, or failing) or an incoming webhook triggers an action, such as notifying a Slack channel or updating an external order's status. They're configured under Automations and are available on the Pro plan.
Does Nozzl track filament usage?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Filament spools and slot assignments are tracked per printer, so you can see remaining material and usage over time alongside your print history.
Does Nozzl integrate with shipping providers?
Yes — Sendcloud and ShipStation connections are supported for automatic stock management tied to shipped orders, configured under Settings → Shipping.
