Getting Started
A complete walkthrough of setting up your account, your organization, and your first print — from signup to your team's day-to-day workflow.
1. Create your account
Go to /register and fill in your name, email address, and a password. You'll also need to accept the current Terms of Service — the form shows you the exact text before you agree to it.
After you submit the form, Nozzl creates your user account and sends a verification email to the address you provided. Click the link in that email to confirm it's really you — if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam, or use the resend option on the login screen.
No credit card is required at this stage. Every new account starts on the Free plan, which covers one printer, so you can explore Nozzl before deciding whether to upgrade.
2. Set up your organization
In Nozzl, a company is your organization's workspace — every printer, print job, customer, tag, and team member belongs to exactly one company. Companies are fully isolated from one another: nobody outside your company can see your printers, jobs, or customer data, and you can be a member of more than one company at once (useful if you manage farms for multiple clients).
The first time you sign in, you'll be asked to either create a company or, if someone already invited you, accept that invitation instead (invitations arrive as an email with a link that adds you straight to their company — you don't create your own).
To create a company:
- Enter a company name — this is shown throughout the dashboard and on any customer-facing reports you generate later.
- Nozzl generates a URL slug from the name automatically (for example "Acme Prints" becomes
acme-prints), which becomes part of your dashboard's URL. You can edit it before submitting if you'd prefer something different. - Submit the form. You're immediately added as the company's Owner — the highest permission level — and land on its dashboard.
Then, finish configuring it under Settings:
- Settings → General — set your company's currency (14 currencies are supported, including EUR, USD, GBP and CHF) used for pricing, customer billing, and reports.
- Settings → Subscription — review your plan. You can stay on Free (one printer) or upgrade to Pro (€25/month for 4 printers, +€2.50 per additional printer) to unlock analytics, customer billing, filament tracking, automations, external print detection, and support tickets.
- Settings → Members — this is where you'll invite your team; see step 6 below for the full permission model.
You can change the company name and currency later, and an Owner can transfer or delete the company entirely from company settings if you ever need to start over.
3. Connect your printers
Open Settings → Connections and add your printers. Nozzl supports several brands, each connected a little differently:
- Bambu Lab — log in with your Bambu account email and password. Bambu emails you a one-time verification code; enter it to finish linking the account, and every printer registered to it syncs automatically.
- Klipper-based printers (Creality, Elegoo, Snapmaker) — connect over Moonraker using the printer's local IP address.
- OctoPrint / Prusa Connect — connect using the printer's API key, found in that tool's own settings.
If a printer sits on a local network that Nozzl's cloud can't reach directly, install the local agent — a small desktop app — on any machine on that same network. It securely relays printer status and commands to your dashboard without exposing your network to the internet.
Once connected, printers show up on the main Printers page with live status, temperatures, and current job progress.
Live camera and AI failure detection (Pro)
Bambu's cloud API doesn't expose a camera feed, so on a cloud-connected Bambu printer these two features specifically still need a local agent — install it on a machine on the same network as the printer and link it as that printer's camera source. Once linked, open the printer's page and turn on AI Print Monitoring under its settings. The local agent then analyzes a camera frame about once a minute, entirely on your own machine, and flags likely failures (spaghetti, a detached part, a knocked-over object). Turn on auto-pause and a flagged print pauses immediately — before anyone confirms anything — and a banner appears on the printer's page letting you resume it (false alarm), confirm the failure and leave it paused, or stop it outright. This works for prints started outside Nozzl too — from Bambu Handy or the printer's own screen — since it watches the camera and the printer's live state directly.
4. Organize with tags and groups
Use Tags (Settings → Tags) to label printers and jobs by material, nozzle size, color, or location, and Groups to cluster printers that should be treated as one interchangeable pool. Both feed the print queue's automatic matching in the next step, so a job tagged "0.4mm PLA" only gets assigned to printers that can actually run it.
5. Queue your first print
Upload a file to the Print Queue, or add it to Products first if it's something you'll print repeatedly (products can be re-queued in one click later). Tag the job so it matches the right printers, set a priority, and Nozzl assigns it automatically as matching printers free up. Check Schedule for a calendar view of everything running and everything queued next, and Print History once jobs complete.
6. Invite your team and set roles
From Settings → Members, invite teammates by email. Each invite arrives as an email with a link that adds them straight to your company once they accept it — they don't create a separate company of their own. Assign each person one of four roles:
| Permission | Owner | Admin | Operator | Viewer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| View dashboard and printer status | ||||
| Upload files, start and stop prints | ||||
| Manage the print queue | ||||
| Manage customers | ||||
| Manage tags and printer connections | ||||
| Connect Bambu accounts | ||||
| Manage shipping and automations | ||||
| Invite users and change roles | ||||
| Company settings (name, currency, subscription) | ||||
| Delete the company |
Only Owners and Admins can change roles, and neither can promote someone to a role higher than their own — an Admin can't make someone an Owner, for instance. There's always exactly one path of accountability: only an Owner can access billing, rename or delete the company.
7. Track customers and billing
Add customers under Customers and set an hourly rate for each one. Nozzl tracks print time against their jobs automatically — including prints started directly from Bambu Cloud, Prusa Connect, or OctoPrint, which are detected and can be claimed for the right customer even though they weren't queued through Nozzl. When it's time to invoice, generate a PDF or Excel report straight from the customer's page.
8. Automate and get support
Set up Automations to react to print events and webhooks — for example, notifying a Slack channel when a print finishes, or updating an order's status the moment a job completes. If something needs a human, open a ticket from Support inside the app; our team responds there directly, with the full context of your company and printers already attached.
